How It Started
The Town of Genoa says the Candy Dance began in 1919 as a Saturday night dinner and dance run by the town’s ladies to buy street lights for Genoa. After the lights were bought, the fundraiser kept going to pay the electric bill. The arts and crafts faire was added in 1974.
