By Air: Reno-Tahoe International

The airport’s home page says 10 airlines serve it, with 20-plus nonstop destinations and more than 130 daily flights (airline names not printed on that page). Its ground transportation page lists taxis outside the D Doors, limousines, Uber and Lyft pick-up at the ground transportation loop outside Door D, free hotel shuttles and city bus RTC RIDE (Route 12). Tahoe shuttles listed: North Lake Tahoe Express (outside Door D, book 24 hours ahead) and South Tahoe Airporter.

By Train: Amtrak California Zephyr

Amtrak lists Reno (280 University Way) and Truckee (10065 Donner Pass Road) among the California Zephyr stations. Station hours and schedules are Not Confirmed; we did not read them.

By Car

Visitor Centers

The Reno Tahoe Visitor Center is inside Home Means Nevada at 135 North Sierra Street, Reno, open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except major holidays, per the visitor authority. The Incline Village Crystal Bay Visitors Bureau is at 969 Tahoe Blvd., Incline Village, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Virginia City Tourism Commission is at 86 South C Street, 775-847-7500. Carson City and Truckee visitor-center hours are Not Confirmed.
